When we ordered Annie's saddle, there was a place to have her name tooled on the leather. There was another place for whatever else we wanted. I had watched many children join families though adoption. Some of them were very justifiably angry about their situations. Sometimes that anger did even more to keep them from being happy than those horrible events that happened, that were beyond their control. And then there was Annie. She couldn't control her history, but she realized that she was the captain of her own future happiness. She set out without hate or anger to chase her dreams and those things that would bring her the most happiness. Now, every time I look at her saddle, there is a gleam (and perhaps a tear) in my eye as I read: "Dream Catcher."
