Fun Faux Sushi for Kids

Summer Sushi doesn't get sweeter than this... Sushi treats! Swedish Fish Roll, Caramel Crispy Crunch Roll and more!

Ingredients

  • Homemade crisp rice treat mixture

  • Fruit roll ups

  • Long red candy like licorice or gummy worms

  • Nuts, granola or crushed toffee

  • Caramel sauce

  • chocolate sauce


You will also need parchment paper and a rolling pin. Recipe makes 8-10 rolls

Between two sheets of parchment paper, roll 1 cup of crisp rice treat until flat and firm. (In the shape of a rectangle.)Remove top sheet of parchment.  Lay licorice or gummy worm candy on long edge of treat and begin to roll.  You can add a fruit roll up at this stage for a spiral inside, or surround the outside of hte roll to look like it is wrappedin seaweed. Use the parchment paper to help get a tighter roll.  Roll should be approximately 1 1/2"  in diameter. Let the rolls rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing with a sharp knife.

For the Caramel Crunch Roll, use regular crispy treat and scotchie treats layerd and rolled together.   Sprinkle granola, chopped nuts or crushed toffee on parchment and roll again.  Slice and drizzle with caramel sauce.  Serve with your favorite chocolate sauce for dipping.
