James Simmons and the Red Plate

If you have been following our family for a while, you know that years ago Amy created an awesome tradition of giving "the red plate" to someone for dinner when they had a special day. It is one of Jack's favorite traditions in our home. Well, James had a special day and the only red plates are nice, ceramic ones. The problem is that James is at the age where when he's done eating, the bowl/plate/utensils/whatever/ get tossed to the floor. But James learned to walk, so we had to recognize THAT! One of the kids found a red plastic bowl for him. He doesn't quite get it, yet. But it won't be long before he loves getting the red plate as much as anyone else in the family. Learning to walk has taken quite a while and a lot of effort for James. He was born with club feet and went through surgeries and a series of casts and brace routines. So, it has been a long time coming and we are so excited to see him reach this milestone! Click here for the best of the Simmons Family Posts.
